Welcome to the Department for Enhancing Learning

An exciting and innovative new department dedicated to enhancing learning for all pupils, of all ages and abilities, in both Malsis and Pre-Prep.

With an emphasis on the quality of the learning experience, we provide ‘BoosterBooks’ programmes to boost competences in reading, writing and spelling. Based upon experience and recent research into effective teaching and learning, the programmes provide our pupils with opportunities to behave more like real readers and writers in highly motivating contexts. Whether the teams of pupils are co-creating their own book, putting together a programme for the school play or writing their version of the school prospectus, there is always an emphasis on fun and enjoyment.

We take responsibility for teaching and learning, and are confident in our approach to working with ‘learning vulnerable’ children. Having an ‘in-house’ Educational Psychologist enables us to respond to issues and concerns quickly. Consultations with parents and teachers, in-class observations, and informal assessments are easy to arrange, and feedback is instant; thus strategies and approaches can be implemented immediately, and their effectiveness closely monitored.

A whole-school approach to enhancing learning is very much at the cutting edge of the education field. Our key aim is to provide the most effective learning experiences for all our children, so that they become independent learners, confident in their problem solving abilities, not only in the classroom but in all aspects of their lives.
