A On the cakes stall at the Summer Fair, slices of apple pie were priced at 40p per    
slice.  No-one bought any so they were reduced to less than half price and the
  total raised was £3.91.

By how much was the price of each slice reduced?

   

B Investigate these statements, show whether they are true or false.
1.   All quadrilaterals tessellate
2.  A regular pentagon will not tessellate
3.  A regular hexagon will tessellate

C A snail climbing up the side of a 10m high building climbs 3m every night and
  slips back 2m every day.  On which night will the snail reach the top?
