A very warm welcome to the Malsis school website. I hope you will feel encouraged to find out more about the unique experience Malsis offers to children aged from 3 to 13 years. Malsis, an independent co-educational boarding and day school, was founded in 1920 and is set in stunning Yorkshire countryside, attracting pupils from both the surrounding areas and from further afield, taking advantage of the excellent communication network which serves Malsis.
At Malsis all children are given the opportunity to board; as well as full-time boarding, we are able to offer a range of boarding options.
Together with my wife Ingrid and our two sons, both pupils at Malsis, I live in the very heart of the school. Ingrid and I directly oversee the children's pastoral care and lead a fantastic team of experienced and dedicated staff. Every child has a form tutor and a Housemaster to whom they can turn for guidance. Moreover, Marcus Peel, who is Head of Boarding and his wife, Louise, ensure that the boarders regard Malsis as a "home from home". Wednesday night is "Boarder's Night" with special activities arranged just for Boarders', while at weekends there is a full programme of indoor and outdoor activities. We have Exeat weekends in each half of term, giving the children a chance to catch their breath after enjoying their busy school lives.
Our aim at Malsis is to provide children with the very best opportunities for their academic, emotional and physical development. Classes are small, with many specialist teachers. While fostering a keen competitive spirit, we actively encourage good manners, kindness and consideration for others.
I very much hope that you will come to visit us and see the school in action. We have a series of Open Mornings during the year, but you would be welcome to arrange a visit at any time to meet the children and staff. We will happily send you a copy of the School Prospectus or answer any of your questions if you would like to call us.
