Independent co-educational day and boarding - ages 3-13
Marcus Peel, along with his wife Louise, has been at the centre of Malsis life since 2005 and became headmaster in 2008. Unusually, before embarking on his teaching career at Orwell Park, Suffolk, he was a Metropolitan police officer, working on murder enquiries in London! He is very energetic and as a trained mountain leader, canoeist, air rifle instructor, hockey coach and keen cook, is very ‘hands on’ when it comes to activities. His enthusiasm for adventure has inspired parents to offer incredible levels of help and support. Malsis boasts a high ropes RAP tree facility, a reciprocal arrangement with a local adventure centre and a 3km, professionally designed mountain bike course within the grounds. Marcus also plays a number of instruments and runs holiday rock school courses for children – perhaps a legacy from his own music exhibition to Repton School. He can often be found showing a gaggle of children some moves on his electric drum kit or having an impromptu sing-a-long around a piano. He has great enthusiasm for both history and food and at the weekends can be found with the children plucking pheasants, hand-making pasta and rolling out pizzas. “I want the children to be purposeful, well balanced, charming and modestly stylish. Learning must be challenging, but above all – fun!” Headmaster, Marcus Peel. |
