Boarding at Malsis

Modern boarding is hugely popular at Malsis - the development of the whole child within a very happy, friendly and purposeful atmosphere is the hallmark of the best boarding schools in Britain and the most recent reports of the Independent Schools Inspectorate and the National Care Standards Commission confirmed this and much more of Malsis.

Whilst the day children experience much of the ‘boarding ethos’ of Malsis, with its emphasis on strong pastoral care and tremendous breadth of exciting experiences inside and outside the classroom, there comes a time when, to make the very most of the opportunities on offer, many girls and boys decide to board.

Marcus and Louise Peel, Heads of Boarding at Malsis, make sure that boarding is truly a ‘home away from home’ for the children.  Strong links between home and school are forged and parents may visit whenever they are able; children also email and phone home whenever they wish.

It is not just a matter of convenience.  Our youngest boarders appreciate the homely environment and the chance to live alongside their friends; more than anything else the older ones value the opportunity to develop a little independence before moving on to their Senior Schools.  All become more considerate, adaptable, tolerant, understanding and capable of coping with the ups and downs of life.

Boarding at Malsis is about the people and having fun; it is almost always the girls and boys who have said to their parents, ‘I would like to board’.  Belonging to, and helping to shape a very special community, as well as building lasting friendships are what our leavers and their parents look back on with affection and a justifiable sense of pride.  Malsis offers a range of boarding options, click here for further details.
