Sport

With the wonderful outdoor areas coupled with the use of ‘Big Malsis’ facilities the children are given a wonderful variety of physical education. Each class has the use of the astro turf for games, the sports hall and our own age appropriate resources for games and gymnastics.

Kindergarten have the added benefit of using their wooded garden daily for climbing, balancing and moving around.

Reception and Year One enjoy two P.E sessions per week with their Class Teacher.

Year Two have three games sessions each week and are taught by specialist Sports Teachers. They build on the team games and skills started lower in the school. To enable the children to enjoy these longer sessions they have an extended day until 4pm on P.E days.

Children from Reception to Year Two have a weekly swimming lesson in the school pool.  The children swim in groups of no more than 10 to ensure they are taught according to their ability and confidence in the water.

Activities

In addition to the rich a varied learning programme we provide during the day the children from Reception to Year Two have a variety of opportunities to participate in clubs after school.

Dance is provided by a specialist teacher. The children are split according to age and enjoy the creativity of this activity.  It enhances their ability to move, respond to music and develop dance movements related to ballet, modern and jazz.

Swimming Club is provided one afternoon during the week and on Saturday mornings so parents can choose the time which best suits the children.  The mid week lessons are for children who can already swim.

Owl Club is run by the Pre-Prep staff and is an opportunity for the children to enjoy a range of activities and Crafts such as sewing, modelling, gardening, parachutes and den making.

Games Club is run by the Headmasters wife and is an additional way for the children to develop ball skills and team play.  Mrs Lush often runs this alongside our GAP tutors, using the most of their talents such as basket ball, hockey and cricket.
